I’ve been redoing my work space a little bit today, as I decided that I wanted to have a little bit of a view whilst stitching. It will also provide with natural light, which will be great. To decorate the window I bought some new plants. Hopefully the cats won’t eat them! In the photos are several patterns in different stages of progress: Birds of a Feather (pincushion), Chapter House Tiles, Love Letters, and on the table you can also see the original Sarah Storrs Quaker sampler from 1795, which formed the inspiration for my version of it. Whilst I was editing the photos I looked out into the garden and suddenly was surprised to see an unexpected visitor: a beautiful hummingbird hawk-moth decided to pay us a visit! It apparently loves plants like verbena and lavender, so it came to the right place. Seeing this wonderful moth fly through the garden is nearly hypnotic: I hope it will pay us many more visits in the future!
