Garden Birds features four birds in what appears to be the plan of a boxwood garden. Inspiration came from Roman mosaics, where the perspective sometimes would depict a garden from the air, but the plants and animals in it from the side.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
This design measures 107 crosses wide and high. Worked over two threads on 32 count linen it would measure approximately 6 3/4” by 6 3/4” (17 x 17cm). This design has total of 5576 crosses. On average, you can work approximately 1800 crosses with an 8-yard skein, when working with 2 pulled strands of floss over 2. This means that you need a minmum of 4 skeins of floss.
As this is a folklore design, it would work really well stitched in one colour. To give it a more vintage look, you could opt for a subtly variegated floss. “Falu Red” by Leo&Roxy, exclusively available through www. evertote.com would be an excellent option.
The pattern has been split over 2 pages. On page 2 you will notice a 3-cross wide greyed out border on the left: this area is an overlap from the previous page, which will make it easier to find your way on the next page.
