Description

Letters from the North is a series of Scandinavian style cross-stitch samplers, of which this is the first. Fascinated by their simplicity and geometric abstraction I began designing my own samplers with a distinct folk aesthetic.

The pattern here is the fourth in the series, depicting a large flower bush in a decorative pot, flanked by reindeer, peacocks, birds and dogs. At the top a decorative border separates a small alphabet and crown from the rest of the sampler.

A full decorative alphabet and number set is included in this alphabet, so you can fully personalise your pattern.

Although I have opted for a monochrome red sampler, you can choose any colour or a mixture of your favourite colours.

This sampler measures 139 crosses in height and 129 crosses in width. Stitched over two threads on 32 count linen, it would approximately measure 8 3/8” by 8” (22 by 20.5cm).

Make sure to check out the rest of my shop to discover some high quality embroidery threads and fine linens.
