Starry Night was designed quite some time ago as an exclusive for the Winter Book of UK craft supplier Lakeside Needlecraft. I’m very happy to finally present the design to you now, with an updated colour scheme using Leo&Roxy Yarn Co floss.

Although I have charted this with L&R floss in mind, you can stitch it with completely different colours or floss types. You can even choose to stitch it on a dark background and not stitch the dark blue stitches, but just stick to the others and letting the background of your fabric play an important role.

TECHNICAL DETAILS:

This sampler is 49 crosses wide, and 73 crosses high. Stitched over two threads on 32-count linen (or 16-count Aida) it would measure approximately 31/2” by 51/8” (9 by 13.2 cm).

On average, you can stitch approximately 1800 crosses with an 8-yard (7.3m) skein of floss. This means that, when working with two strands on 32-count linen, you will only need 1 skein of each colour.
