Description

This pattern was inspired by the traditional embroideries from central Sweden. The region of Hälsingland has produced some wonderful redwork embroidery pieces, and for this cushion cover I took inspiration of bed-linens and cushion covers featuring elements such as flora and heart motifs.

Though this octagonal cushion shape is not something traditionally found in Hälsingland, its general feel and monochrome pattern is certainly something that an embroiderer from 18th century Hälsingland would recognise!

The pattern measures 237 by 237 stitches – embroidered on 32-count linen it would measure 15 by 15 inches (37.5 by 37.5cm).
