Description
Kindness & Fortitude – inspiring words that I think would’ve fit an 18th century Quaker sampler very well. For this design I chose a variety of original medallion designs, as well as a large pot with flowers and two birds, and several small medallions and elements to fill the gaps between the larger medallions. Though it is inspired by antique samplers, each medallion is truly unique and original to this sampler only.
This Quaker sampler measures 253 crosses in height and 189 crosses in width.Stitched over two threads on 32 count linen, it would approximately measure 15 3/4” by 11 3/4” (40 by 30cm).
