Description

This pattern is available for download immediately after purchase.

The Birds in the Orchard is a pattern featuring a selection of cheerful birds in a blossoming fruit tree, inspired by folk embroidery from the 18th and 19th centuries. I stitched this pattern up in Ramgarh, India, which is also known as the Fruit Bowl of Kumaon. With such a diverse flora and fauna, it was certainly inspiring, and I hope this pattern will bring you some of the cheer I felt when making it!

This sampler measures 112 crosses in height and 75 crosses in width. Stitched on 32 count linen, the finished piece measures approximately 18 x 12cm (7” x 4 6/8”).
