A good friendships can, just like the tree, grow bigger and stronger over time. This little design is in celebration of such friendships. You can stitch the initials of a friend at the top underneath the crowns. Optionally, you could put your initials where the date on the artwork is – I’ll leave that up to you! I think this mini sampler would make a great gift for a special friend in your life.

TECHNICAL DETAILS:

This design is 105 crosses wide, and 159 crosses high. It has a total of 3912 crosses. It features only full crosses, and is suitable to be worked on any countable material. As this is a monochrome design, you can choose any colour (or colours) of your liking. Below is an estimate of the skeins of floss required to finish this design. Calculations are based on both 6-stranded DMC and 6-stranded 8-yard hand-dyed hanks.

14-count aida / 28-count linen: 3 skeins, working with 2 strands
16-count aida / 32-count linen: 3 skeins, working with 2 strands
18-count aida / 36-count linen: 2 skeins, working with 2 strands
20-count aida / 40-count linen (and higher) 1 skein, working with 1 strand
