AVDVS 1851 is a colourful and cheerful sampler worked by Annetje van de Vuurst Schoenmaker in the province of Utrecht, in the centre of the Netherlands. The richly illustrated booklet features the pattern and biographical information on the stitcher.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
Annetje’s sampler measures 164 crosses in width and 157 crosses in height. There are no specialty stitches in this pattern and it can be worked on both linen and Aida. Please see the graph below for sizing estimates. The design has a total of 13 colours. The key recommends DMC and Roxy Floss Co colours (exclusively available through evertote.ca in Canada). All colours require less than one skein of floss, except DMC 732 (Mustardseed) and DMC 321 (Lucille), which require two skeins when working on 28, 32, or 36-ct linen (14, 16, or 18-count Aida).
Floss calculations are based on working with two strands of 6-stranded floss over two on 28, 32 and 36-ct linen. Higher counts require just one strand, and one skein of each colour will be sufficient.
