On October 25th 2014, I released a design called Julbocken. Today, nearly eight years later, I visited IKEA in Rotterdam and picked up a little straw Julbocken. I remembered the pattern then and thought I should revisit this design and re-release it in an updated form. I’m excited to present to you the 2022 take on this pattern!
TECHNICAL DETAILS:
This sampler is 103 crosses wide and 141 crosses high. Stitched over two threads on 32-count linen (or 16-count Aida), it would measure approximately 61/2” by 87/8” (16.5 by 22.5 cm). It has a total of 6998 crosses. On average, you can stitch about 1800 crosses with an 8-yard (7.3m) skein of floss. When working with two strands on 32-count linen, you will require a minimum of four skeins. As this is a monochrome design, you can select any colour of your liking. I can recommend Falu Red (by Roxy Floss Co, through www.evertote.ca) or DMC 3777, which is a perfectly rusty red colour.
The pattern has been split over four pages. After the 1st page, you will notice a 3-cross wide greyed-out border: this area overlaps the previous page, making it easier to find your way to the next page.
IMPORTANT: If you have purchased this pattern previously (either through my website, or my old Etsy shop), you qualify for a free copy of this design. Linda Levin –
This was a lot of fun to stitch! It took me about two months, a little bit each day. I used 32 count linen and 2 strands of floss, each a different shade of red. I am super happy with this design. Can’t figure out how to upload my photo.

I purchased the pattern today and am looking forward to seeing it come alive during the holiday season.
What a beautiful gift to give!
Thank you!
