A couple of new patterns have been added to the shop. One was inspired by a quote from the 1815 novel Emma by Jane Austen, the other pattern is a Christmas stocking that took its inspiration from the Överhogdal tapestries in Sweden. As a lot of stitchers like to get an early start on Christmas patterns (and seen that they take a lot of time to make), I thought it a good idea to put this one up early, so that you can start on your stocking whenever you like. The stocking pattern includes clear instructions on how to stitch and sew your own design.
Tenderness of Heart: A Jane Austen Sampler features a small heart-shaped tree in a pot, flanked by birds. The pattern is fully customisable as it comes with a full alphabet and number set. I think it would make a great wedding gift.
I’ve also
added some new threads to my shop. They are the “Oatmeal” threads by The Gentle Art. Previous times when I had these in stock they sold out even before I could add them – so I got some more now!
Currently I’m a little bit obsessed by antique darning samplers. I’m teaching myself this wonderful technique at the moment, and am planning to design a couple of patterns using this technique pretty soon!

Dear Jacob: I’ve been wandering up from the beginning of your blog, having a wonderful time , and just came to the darning sampler test piece! Aren’t they just the best? And I think the cream of the crop comes from the Netherlands, don’t you? I have a small darning sampler going, based on a family piece belonging to Barbara Chatterton-Luuring, stitched on Wichelt 28 ct. natural/half bleached with Danish flower thread in blues and white. I think the Sampler Threads 12 perle would look wonderful also. Anyhow, just wanted to say say hello and thanks. Best regards to you and A. and the cats. Charlotte in California
