A Danish School Sampler is my take on a simple traditional schoolhouse sampler: it has several simple bands, one slightly more intricate one, and a full alphabet. I wanted to create a Nordic feel with this sampler, so for one of the borders I included an 8-leaf rose pattern, and the alphabet includes the Danish letters Æ, Ø, and Å.
I created this pattern not only out of my love for these samplers, but also as a simple alphabet sampler for stitchers who want to learn the craft of cross-stitch embroidery. It’s a great fun sampler for experienced stitchers to quickly stitch up, and would make a wonderful gift framed to a fellow stitch enthousiast!

This pattern was originally released in 2015 as “A Danish Schoolhouse Sampler”. A few small changes have been made to the pattern. If you have purchased the pattern from my website in the past, you should find an update in your downloads.
