Description
This is the second of two matching Japanese alphabet samplers. The first one features the Hiragana alphabet, whilst the 2nd one features the Katakana alphabet. Both samplers are exactly the same in height and width.
I have charted this design with two colours in mind – however, you can stitch it fully monochrome, or add even more colours!
The pattern is split over 2 pages. On the 2nd page you will notice that the chart has a greyed out area of three crosses wide: this indicates an overlapping area from the previous page. It’s there to help you find the starting point to continue your work.
This design measures 121 crosses wide and 91 crosses high. If you stitch it on 32 count, it will measure approximately 7 1/2” by 5 2/3” (19.2 x 14.5 cm). It has a total of 3497 crosses: 1730 grey stitches (DMC 646) and 1767 pink stitches (DMC 3354). If you are stitching with 2 pulled strands over 2, you can stitch approximately 2000 crossees per 8 metre skein of 6-stranded floss. This means that you will only need one skein of pink and one skein of grey to complete this design. It would look beautiful stitched on off-white linen by Zweigart (colour code 101)
This pattern is available immediately after purchase, and comes in both A4 and Letter formats.
