Description

This listing is for a digital PDF file. Immediately after purchase you can download your file, in either Letter format (used mainly in Canada, the US, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and the Philippines) or A4 (rest of the world).

This pattern features mainly full crosses, has a very small amount of backstitch and features one cross off-the-grid. It can be stitched on both linen and aida – though on aida you will either have to stitch the off-the-grid cross inbetween the holes, or substitute this with a backstitch.

Last year I got the opportunity of acquiring a unique sampler from 1833. The original sampler has a stitched surface of about 43 by 43 cm, which was worked over 2 threads on a 50-count linen. I can honestly say that it is the most beautiful sampler in my collection.

I am now very happy to present to you AKGIT – a stunning sampler stitch in 1833 in the Vierlande area in the north of Germany. With a pattern booklet spread over 24 pages, this will be a fantastic project to work on over a prolonged period of time. If you prefer to work on something just a little smaller but in the same style, then I’ve got you covered: make sure to check out “When this you see, Remember me” pattern, and the three Vierlande style samplers in “Mini“, “Small” and “Medium” formats.

TECHNICAL DETAILS:

This design is 409 crosses wide and 418 crosses high. It has a total of 76807 crosses. It would look fantastic on a subtly antiqued linen with a near brown-black floss. Roxy Floss Co has dyed a floss specifically for this sampler named “Vierlande” and it is just perfect! All Roxy Floss Co flosses can be purchased through Evertote in Canada (www.evertote.ca).

The chart below gives estimates of the size of your finished piece and the amount of floss required to finish this piece. 14, 16 and 18 count aida (or 28, 32 and 36 count) are calculated using 2 pulled strands of floss. Only one pulled strand is calculated for 20-count aida (or 40-count linen) and up.
