This design is based on an original 18th century sampler that I found in an antique shop in Delft.
I wanted to share my sampler find with you, but as the original sampler was not finished, I decided to use separate elements and create three unique patterns. This one features the vase with carnations found on the original sampler.
As it is such a sweet small pattern, you can choose to finish it as a pincushion, but it would look really lovely as a group of mini samplers together with the other two designs in this series.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
This design measures 83 crosses in width and 75 in height. Please see the chart on the following page for size estimates. Each colour uses less than one skein of floss, whether you work with 1 or 2 pulled strands.
