Description
This is a rather eclectic pillow cover pattern, mixing styles from different European countries (Eastern Europe, The Netherlands and the Scandinavian region). I am really happy with its folklore aesthetic and its strict symmetry.
Although I designed it as a cross-stitch pillow cover, I’m very curious to see what this would look like on a large woven carpet. When stitching, I would recommend starting with the border. Simply rotate the pattern 45º when you finished each quarter. Finally add the central heart motif, which is found on this page. You could also personalise your pattern with the two alphabets and numbers provided at the very end of this pattern booklet.
This pattern measures 223 by 223 crosses – embroidered over two threads on 32 count linen it would measure approximately 14” by 14” (35.5 by 35.5 cm).
