This cheerful red-house sampler features a pretty border, alphabet, red house, and two ladies flanking the house, together with trees of life and flower pots.
This design can be personalised with the initials of family and / or loved ones by using the alphabet at the bottom of the design.
NOTE: this is a re-design and update of a design I created in 2011. If you have purchased this pattern from my website before, you will find it in your downloads.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
This design has about 10700 crosses (dependent on personalisation) and measures 179 crosses wide and 150 crosses high. Please check out the graph below for size- and floss estimates for various materials. The size estimates are for the finished piece and do not include extra fabric on the sides. Floss calculations are based on working with 2 pulled strands on 14 through to 18-count aida (28 through to 36-count linen) and working with one strand on higher-count materials. You can use as many or as few strands as you see fit.
The pattern has been split over four pages. From the second pattern page onwards, you will notice a 3-cross wide and/or high greyed-out border: this area overlaps the previous page, making it easier to find your way on the next page.
It would look wonderful worked with Roxy Floss Co. “Falu Red” on any lighter-coloured linen. Linens and floss are exclusively available through www.evertote.ca in Canada. You are, of course, free to select any colour you wish. If looking for a DMC alternative, 3777 is always a good option for a red sampler.
