Description
Here’s the 11th part of my 2019 SAL, entitled Hope. I took inspiration from Emily Dickinson’s beautiful poem that opens with these lines:
“Hope” is the thing with feathers –
That perches in the soul –
And sings the tune without the words –
And never stops – at all –
The November part of my Mystery SAL features a large but cozy home in the forest, where birds are perched in the trees!
My Hope design measures 363 crosses in height and 249 crosses in width, and will measure approximately 15 5/8″ x 22 3/4″ (57.8 x 39.7cm)
As you will decide over the course of the year which designs you will be stitching, I can only give an estimate to the total stitches – which will be around 30000. This means that stitched with 2 pulled strands of 6-stranded floss on 32 count linen (or 16 count Aida) you will need between 118 and 150 metres of floss (15 to 19 skeins of DMC / Anchor).
The 2018 Mystery SAL proved how creative you all were in your interpretations of my design, and I really look forward seeing your personal interpretations! When you share your work on Instagram, make sure to use the hashtags #MFESAL2019 and #ModernFolkEmbroidery.
