“Song of the Nightingale” was inspired by the 1843 fairytale “The Nightingale” by Hans Christian Andersen.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
This design measures 285 crosses wide, and 149 crosses high. Below you will find the approximate finished size on different types of linen:
32-count: 17 7/8” by 9 3/8” (45 x 23. 5 cm) 36-count: 15 7/8” by 8 3/8” (40. 5 x 21 cm) 40-count: 14 1/4” by 7 3/8” (36. 5 x 19 cm) 46-count: 12 1/2” by 6 1/2” (31. 5 x 16. 5 cm)
When working on 32 and 36-count linens with 2 pulled strands over 2, I would recommend getting 6 skeins of Just Navy, 6 skeins of Delft, and 3 skeins of Ochre. When working on 40 and 46-count linens with 1 pulled strand over 2, I would recommend getting 3 skeins of Just Navy, 3 skeins of Delft, and 2 skeins of Ochre.
This design can be stitched on any material, but to achieve the effect seen on the cover, I would recommend stitching on Leo&Roxy Floss Co’s “Porcelain” linen. Both floss and line are exclusively available through www.evertote.ca
The pattern has been split over eight pages. After the 1st page, you will notice a 3-cross wide greyed-out border: this area is an overlap from the previous page, which will make it easier to find your way to the next page. The design can be personalised with the alphabet and letters on the next page of this booklet.
