From the launch of this design until the 31st of December 2019 50% of profits of this design were donated to local York charity SASH. I’m proud to report that 102 of you purchased my Bristol Monkey Sampler, and through the Big Give initiative, I was able to double part of this amount, resulting in a total of £1168.19 for this great charity. The Bristol Monkey Sampler is a playful take on the traditional Bristol Orphanage samplers, and is a completely original design by Modern Folk Embroidery. I have always loved the Bristol samplers, and they were one of the reasons why I started designing in monochromes. This design features only full crosses and can be stitched on both linen or Aida.
The pattern, when stitched up, will measure approximately 23 1/8″ high and 16 1/2″ wide (59 by 42cm) when worked on 32 count linen (or 16 count Aida), and has a total of 25913 crosses. Worked with 2 pulled strands of floss, it would require approximately 13 skeins of DMC.
