The joyous heart is a small romantic hoop art project, and is perfect to use up some leftover colours from a larger sampler! It’s a multi-colour design (four colours in total) but can also be stitched monochrome.
The design measures 103 crosses in height and width, and has a total of 2615 crosses. Stitched over two threads on 32 count linen (or over one on 16 count Aida), it would measure approximately 6.5″ by 6.5″ (16.5 x 16.5cm). It is perfect for framing in a 7″ embroidery hoop.
To stitch this design you will need only a few metres of floss of each colour – below you find the amount of crosses and an estimated amount of floss needed.
DMC 730 Olive Green Very Dark: 870 crosses (half a skein or 4 metres)
DMC 832 Golden Olive: 509 crosses (a quarter skein or 2 metres)
DMC 3803 Mauve Medium: 834 crosses (half a skein or 4 metres)
DMC 3731 Dusty Rose Very Dark: 402 crosses (a quarter skein or 2 metres)
You can change any of these colours to your preferred colour palette!
