Description

This listing is for a PDF pattern, immediately downloadable as a file after purchase, so you can start stitching right away!

This design is based on a family heirloom from Canada: a hand-woven coverlet from 1837. Its owner kindly allowed me to create a cross-stitch repeat pattern based on her beautiful coverlet.0

This wonderful coverlet has kept many generations warm, through many a cold Canadian winter. Now, with your support, 25% of the profits that are generated through its sales, will help families stay safe and warm at a time in their lives when they need it the most. Toronto based charity Red Door – Family Shelter helps victims of domestic abuse, families facing homelessness, and refugee claimants with nowhere else to go. So thank you for your support – and if you want to make any further donations to the Red Door, please visit their website: https://www.reddoorshelter.ca

CHART DETAILS

This is a repeat pattern, spread over 3 pages. After the first page, you will notice that the chart has greyed out areas of three crosses on one side: this indicates an overlapping area from the previous page. They are only there to help you find the starting point to continue your work. The pattern is 146 crosses wide – when you choose to repeat it, cross no. 147 would be exactly the same as cross no. 1. This creates an infinite loop.

This one part is 146 crosses wide and 281 crosses high. Stitched on 32 count linen, it would measure 9 1/8” by 17 5/8” (23 x 44.5cm). It has a total of 14079 crosses, which would require approximately 7 to 8 skeins of DMC, when stitch with 2 pulled strands. On the cover art for this pattern I have repeated the pattern so it would have been stitched 3 times with the details provided above.

As there are so many different elements in this design, it is extremely versatile and could be used from pincushions to table runners and bedlinens: the possibilities are infinite!

After your purchase, you can download the file as a “Letter” file and as an “A4” file: “Letter” is the paper format used in the Americas, whilst all other areas tend to use A4 paper. A special Pattern Keeper compatible file has also been created.
