The words from this design were taken from a small 19th-century pincushion. The sentiment of gifting a dear friend something made with love really spoke to me, and I thought they would make the perfect words on a mini design! I was inspired by the trees found on samplers from the Vierlande area in northern Germany. Often they feature little reindeer. Even though this design is suitable all year round, you could also stitch it as a decoration (or a gift!) for the holiday season.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
This design measures 121 crosses in width and height and has 3327 crosses. Please see the chart below for size- and floss estimates. Floss estimates are based on working with two pulled strands (14 – 18-count aida or 28 – 36-count linen) or 1 strand (20-count aida / 40-count linen and higher). It is, of course, up to you how many strands you want to use for your project. Don’t feel limited to stitching the design fully monochrome – use as many or as little colour as you wish. You can use the bonus alphabet chart to further personalise your design.
