We’ve all been there: you’re brewing up your latest evil concoction, and all’s going well until that eternal million- dollar-question pops up: WHERE DID I PUT MY BROOM?
Each time I’m working on something I seem to be misplacing things. I blame wicked spirits on wreaking havoc on my inventory – it certainly has nothing to do with my tidiness…
This design measures 71 crosses in width and 115 crosses in height. Stitched over 2 threads on 32 count linen (or over 1 on 16ct Aida) it would measure approximately 4 3/8” by 7 1/4” (11. 5 by 18. 5cm).
This pattern can be stitched on any fabric, but a nicely hand-dyed, slightly grotty looking fabric combined with
some variegated floss would look fantastic I think. You can select any colour or colours to stitch this design.
Make sure to check out the Leo & Roxy Yarn Co flosses at www.evertote.com in Canada. These hand-dyed cotton flosses are wonderful to work with and come in a fantastic range of colours.
Working on a darker ground, you could even choose to fill the skull with a variegated white floss!
This pattern has a total of 2500 crosses. When working with 2 pulled strands of this floss you can stitch approximately 1800 crosses with one hank. This means 2 skeins (or any other floss measuring about 8 to 10 yards) should be sufficient to complete this project.
