Winter in the City is a cross stitch design that was first published in three parts in the Japanese magazine Stitch Idees, as their 2021 Stitch-A-Long. The full design is now reproduced as a PDF booklet and includes a free bonus chart.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
This sampler is 219 crosses wide and high. It has 25319 dark-coloured crosses (stitched working on light fabric) or 22642 light-coloured crosses (worked on dark fabric). The cover art is close to DMC 3750 for the dark blue and DMC Ecru for the light shade, but you are free to choose any colour of your liking. When working on light fabric, a subtly mottled ecru fabric will show off the dark floss beautifully.
Below you will find size estimates and an estimate of the required floss. Calculations are based on working with 2 pulled strands of 6-stranded floss over 2 threads on 28, 32 and 36 count linen, and with 1 pulled thread over 2 on 40, 46, and 56 count linens.
