I’ve been doing lots of different things lately, except for blogging… So, finally an update on what’s going on! I’ve been designing, stitching up samplers, and then there have been trips to London and the garden centre of course! With spring in full spring (yea…), the garden is starting to look ever so lovely. I bought some Granny’s Bonnets and Lupins, and finally came round to filling up some baskets with flowers – something I’ve been meaning to do for ages, but just could’t get myself to. As we’ve had such amazing weather, there was really no excuse but to get my hands dirty and do some potting.
Much to our delight, a blackbird family has taken up residence in our garden. Occasionally we are treated to some amazing bird song, and as a reward we have started putting out apples. They seem to be very popular, as within a day they seem to disappear.
Inspired by these beautiful birds and the pots with flowers I decided to make a small sampler called Love Birds, which is now available for purchase in my Etsy Shop.
Below some photos of our recent trip to London, my visit to the Boro exhibition at the Somerset House, some pictures of the garden, and me starting to stitch up my latest pattern. I will be posting some pictures soon of the finished sampler!

Hi Jacob! Love the pictures! And your blackbird is so handsome! Your blackbirds don’t look like any of the ones we have here in the middle of the U.S. It is always fun to see the differences. She looks very happy! And always, your designs are something to look forward to!
Thanks for sharing,
Val in Kansas
Thank you Val! I’ve noticed that the common blackbird is quite different from the “new world blackbird”, which apparently is a different species altogether. Glad you like the design. I’m just about to finish it today, so some more photos coming soon as well! 🙂
