It’s here! My very first Mystery SAL (Stitch A-Long)! It’s called Four Seasons – A Primitive Quaker Year, and it’s a big one! Each month I’ll be releasing one part of the puzzle, starting today.
Click here to download the first piece of the puzzle. I hope you will join me in stitching this sampler, and that you will do me the honour of featuring your work on this blog. Just send me an email with a photo of your work, and how you would like to be credited (for instance your name, city, or country of residence). I’m very excited to be stitching alongside you! I’ve not decided yet on how I’m going to stitch mine up… I’m tempted to pick a variegated blue but I might change my mind again!
If you share your stitching on social media, please don’t forget to include the hashtags #modernfolkembroidery and #MFESAL2018, so I can find your work there!
I’ll tell you a little bit about the design now, and what you can expect. I’ve decided to create a large four seasons sampler, stylistically borrowing from antique Quaker samplers and primitive Scandinavian crafts. The resulting sampler is a proper folk art piece, where no piece of the fabric is left undecorated, and there’s a lot to see and discover! I don’t want to give away too much, and hope you’ll be joining me on this new adventure!
For now, I want to wish all of you out there a most wonderful new year, full of love, joy, health, and creativity. May 2018 be a truly wonderful year for us all!
Warmest wishes,
Jacob
