Description

This listing is for a digital PDF file. Immediately after purchase you can download your file, in either Letter format (used mainly in Canada, the US, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and the Philippines) or A4 (rest of the world). A 1-page (pattern keeper compatible) version of the design is also included.

The 2025 Holiday Countdown SAL with Evertote and Roxy Floss Co has been my most ambitious project to date yet. For the first 25 days of December, I produced a video each day, including 13 songs (which will be released later this year as a winter album). I’ve so enjoyed following stitchers all over the world work on the design and seeing the pattern grow each day. And like previous years, I am so happy to present to you the final design in a monochrome edition. You may choose to stitch it fully monochrome (as it is charted in this booklet) or use different colours – the choice is up to you.

For “A Pretty Song”, I wanted to celebrate birds and the joy they bring to my life. I’m not a birder by any degree and have trouble naming them – but I so do enjoy watching them when I’m out in the city or the forest, or even seeing them from my studio window. I particularly love the little wrens that sometimes flitter about the tree outside my window.

There are two big empty spaces above the birds on this pattern: you can use the letters from the bonus alphabet chart (included in the design booklet) to personalise your work. You can also use the numbers to change the date.

TECHNICAL DETAILS:

This design is 113 crosses wide and 137 crosses high and has a total of 4903 crosses. The graph below gives size estimates for a wide range of material as well as an estimation to the floss required. Please refer to the amount of floss required in the graph below.  Floss calculations are based on working with two strands on 28- to 36-count linen (14- to 16-count aida). Higher counts use a single strand. You are free to stitch with as many strands as you like.
If you want to get the look from the cover, I recommend using “Falu Red” on “Biscuit” linen (both by Roxy Floss Co. and exclusively available from www.evertote.ca).
