Five Flowering Lilies was one of the first patterns I released when I started Modern Folk Embroidery. As the pattern booklet needed an update, I have redrawn the pattern and am happy to present you with this design’s new and updated version.
On the chart, you see two doves perched on an ornate lily in bloom. The design was inspired by traditional Dutch sampler designs. Lilies were a popular symbol of purity and peace, and the dove can be seen as a symbol of love.
On the last page of this booklet, you will find several alphabets and numbers which you can use to personalise your work. You could fit the date (split in two) in the top left- and right corners, for instance, and place your initials around the bottom of the flower pot.
TECHNICAL DETAILS:
This design is 89 crosses wide and high. It has a total of 3034 crosses. It features only full crosses and is suitable to be worked on any countable material. As this is a monochrome design, you can choose any colour (or colours) of your liking. Please refer to the table below for size estimates of your finished piece on various sizes of linen and aida. It also gives an estimate of the amount of hanks of floss required to complete your project. Calculations are based on working with two pulled strands on 14, 16, and 18-count aida (28, 32, and 36-count linen). Higher counts require only one pulled strand of six-stranded floss.

This pattern comes with two sets of alphabets and a full numerical set, so you can personalise your work. This design is Pattern Keeper compatible.
