Description
Four Seasons: A Primitive Quaker Year is a take on the four seasons: stylistically it blends Quaker motifs and primitive Scandinavian design ornaments into a unique style. It is true to folk art, in that every single bit of space is occupied with ornament and decoration.
This digital booklet contains all 12 parts of the SAL, so you won’t need to purchase the individual parts. If you have already purchased parts, all individual parts are of course still available separately as well.
My Four Seasons design measures 382 crosses in height and 251 crosses in width, and has a total of 35467 crosses. Stitched over two threads on 32 count linen (or over one on 16 count Aida), it would measure approximately 15 5/8” by 24” (60.5 x 40cm). As this is a big design, I would highly recommend measuring your linen and do a thread count to make sure that your design will fit. It should fit a 70 x 50 cm piece 32 count of linen, leaving approximately 2 inches (5cm) on the sides.
It would approximately require between 140 and 180 metres of 6 stranded floss, when working with 2 pulled strands over 2 threads on 32 count linen (DMC / Anchor equivalent of 17.5 to 22.5 skeins).
The pattern comes with an optional text with the word “FALL” for those who prefer that over “AUTUMN”.
As this sampler is designed in one colour, I look forward seeing your personal interpretations! If you would like to be featured on my website, please send me your photos at info@modernfolkembroidery.com, and let me know how I can credit you . Alternatively, share your work on social media with hashtags #modernfolkembroidery and #MFESAL2018.
