Our garden is getting greener every day, and the first flowers have appeared. A lovely pair of blackbirds have set up residence in a nearby garden, and for the last couple of days I’ve been seeing the male visiting our garden (and eating from the apples I leave outside). It’s a joy to see the potting garden transform from a series of pots with just some earth into a beautiful green area.
For this pattern I took inspiration from these birds & flower pots, and made a sampler which would work perfect as a wedding present. The two circular elements can both easily fit one letter – and instead of the alphabet you could choose to write the names of the married couple. Or you could just embroider your own initials – it’s all up to you.
This pattern measures 180 crosses in height and 119 crosses in width. Stitched over two threads on 32 count linen, it would measure approximately 11 1/4” 7 1/2” (28.5 by 19cm).
