Back in 2015 Cross-Stitch and Needlework Magazine approached me with the question if I would be interested in creating a special design for their Spring issue. I agreed, and the pattern you see before you is the result of my work for them.
For this pattern I wanted the feel of traditional Norwegian embroidery. The two maids seen on the pattern are a common feature of embroidery found in the Nordic regions. The crowned heart is a symbol of love and loyalty. Finally I incorporated the traditional star motif in one of the borders, and in the largest of the two hearts.
This pattern measures 150 crosses in height and 119 crosses in width. Stitched over two threads on 32 count linen, it would approximately measure 9 1/2” by 7 1/2” (24 by 19cm).
