This week we were out in The Hague, Berlin, and Amsterdam, with a small stop-over in Brussels on the way home. Last week we started our journey traveling to the Hague. It’s a very grande city, and I love that it’s a rather un-Dutch city, with it’s very regal buildings and palaces. I spent a day dwelling the cold streets, having forgotten that museums are closed in the Netherlands on Mondays!
The next day we traveled to Berlin, where we stayed in the beautiful Mandala hotel, right in the city centre. We couldn’t have had a better location! We were near all the things I really wanted to visit, and on our third day in the city I did a solo trip to many of the museums on the Museum Isle. I had been to Berlin only once, but that was 15 years ago, and the city has changed a lot since then.
After a couple of days in Berlin we headed back to the Netherlands, where we stayed in Amsterdam for two nights. It was lovely seeing my sister, who traveled to Amsterdam to spend a day with us shopping and doing some sight-seeing. We then had to head back to the UK, but not before stopping off in Brussels, where we spent a couple of hours doing a lot of walking. I managed to get us hopelessly lost, so A and I had to walk miles through neighbourhoods I wouldn’t have minded skipping… but we did discover a few new shops and streets that were definitely worth seeing. Once we reached the city centre the waffles tasted even sweeter. Below you will find a selection of the hundreds of photos I took during this trip!
