Description

Two rectangular sister samplers in a Quaker style. The first sampler reinterprets words from the King James translation of the biblical book of Proverbs – the 2nd one is a line found both in folk songs and in hymns. I like the mystical quality of both, and they seem to fit the principles and practices of the Quakers.

Each Quaker sampler measures 225 crosses in height, and  65 crosses in width. Stitched over two threads on 32 count linen, it would approximately measure 14” by 4” (35.5 by 10.5 cm).
