Description
As I write this, the weather has been terrible here in York, the rivers are rising rapidly & I’m sat at home with a cold. It is one of those days where spring seems too far away!
To contrast the gloom outside my window I decided to make a nice floral pattern, based on a beautiful English 18th century quilted bed cover. Originally intended for a baby or small child, I think the pattern would adapt itself rather well for other purposes, and could be worked in any colour.
This pattern measures 153 by 111 crosses – embroidered over two threads on 32 count linen it would measure approximately 9 1/2” by 7” (24.5 by 17.5 cm). This pattern comes with two sets of alphabets and a full numerical set, so you can personalise your work.
